View a Device's History

Open a device to see its metric tiles and history chart, choose a time range, rename it, set primary metrics, and refresh a reading.

Each device has its own page with its latest readings and a history chart. Open it from any card or list row on the dashboard.

Metric Tiles

One tile appears for each metric the device reports, with its value, unit, and status. Select a tile to add or remove its line on the chart. CO₂ and PM2.5 are on by default, and the battery tile has no line.

Some AirGradient monitors also show a Device diagnostics section with Wi-Fi signal, battery voltage, panel voltage, and firmware version.

For what each status means, see Readings and status colors.

History Chart

Choose a range with the buttons above the chart:

RangeCovers
6hThe last 6 hours
24hThe last 24 hours (the default)
7dThe last 7 days
30dThe last 30 days
6mThe last 6 months
1yThe last year

Hover over the chart to see each line's value at that time.

Qingping devices start with 30 days of imported history. AirGradient devices start when you connect them. A range shows only what displayAQI has stored for the device.

If a range holds more than 2,000 readings, the chart shows the earliest 2,000 and a notice asks you to narrow the time range. At 5-minute readings, 2,000 points cover a little under 7 days.

Offline Gaps

When 2 readings are more than 3 update intervals apart (15 minutes at the 5-minute interval), the chart breaks the line and shades the gap with the label Offline. The gap marks missing readings, whatever the cause.

Rename a Device

On the device page, or on its card or row, select the settings icon (Device settings).

Change the Display name and select Save. Names can be up to 100 characters.

Choose Primary Metrics

Primary metrics are the 2 gauges on a device's dashboard card.

Open Device settings.

Under Primary metrics, switch on up to 2 metrics. Switching on a third replaces the earliest one.

Until you choose, an Air Monitor Pro or Qingping 2 shows CO₂ and PM2.5, and an Air Monitor Lite shows PM2.5 and temperature. The list offers only metrics the device reports.

Refresh a Reading

When a device needs attention, workspace admins get a refresh control: a Refresh button on the device page, and a refresh icon beside the name on cards and list rows.

  • Select it to ask the provider for the latest reading
  • The device page button shows Fetching… and then Updated when a new reading arrives
  • Refreshes are 20 seconds apart, and the button counts down with Refresh in Ns
  • If no new reading arrives within about 4 minutes, a message asks you to try again once the device has been online for a moment

A refresh fetches only what the provider has published. See When a device is offline or stale.

Export and Location

Export CSV sits above the chart; see Export readings to CSV. The Location card sets the device's building, floor, and room; see Organize devices by building, floor, and room.
