Show Air Quality on a Lobby Screen
Create a full-screen kiosk link for a TV, tablet or monitor. Pick a layout, choose the devices and metrics, and add your logo and colors.
A kiosk is a full-screen link for a lobby screen. Anyone with the link can open it in a browser without signing in. The page updates by itself as new readings arrive, about every 5 minutes.
Admins, Editors and Workspace Managers can build kiosks.
Create a Kiosk
Select Kiosk in the sidebar, then Create kiosk. You can also choose Add, then Kiosk.
Under Devices, select the devices to show. A kiosk can include up to 20.
Under Template, choose Ambient cards or Split.
Under Metrics, choose what each device shows. This is described below.
Under Settings, set the display mode, rotation interval, title and what to show.
Under Branding, upload a logo and set colors.
Select Create kiosk.
In the Kiosk created window, select Copy kiosk link.
The preview uses demo data, so you can judge layout and colors before you save.
Layouts
| Template | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Ambient cards | A tile for each device, with 1 or 2 metrics per tile. Shows 1 to 8 devices at once or rotates through them. Switches to a portrait layout on a portrait screen. |
| Split | A status headline on the left and a grid of metrics on the right. Shows one device at a time and always rotates. The layout is landscape only. |
Display Mode
The Display mode setting is for Ambient cards. Split always rotates one device at a time, so it has no display mode.
| Display mode | What the screen does |
|---|---|
| Auto | Shows 1 to 8 devices together on one screen. With 9 or more, it rotates through them one at a time. |
| Always loop | Rotates through the devices one at a time, whatever the count. |
Rotation interval sets how many seconds each device stays on screen. It accepts 5 to 300 seconds and defaults to 10. It appears when the kiosk rotates.
Metrics
Ambient cards shows 1 or 2 metrics on every tile. Choose from CO₂, PM2.5, PM10, Temperature and Humidity. The defaults are CO₂ and PM2.5. A device shows only the metrics it reports.
Split shows every metric the device reports.
Each air quality metric carries a status word: Good, Fair, Poor or Alert. Temperature and humidity show In range or Out of range. Readings and status colors explains how status is decided.
Branding and Options
Under Settings, the Show list controls what appears on screen. Each item is a checkbox:
- Title, taken from Kiosk title (up to 120 characters)
- Device name
- Last updated
- Logo
- “Powered by displayAQI.com”, on by default
Under Branding, select Upload logo, and set Background, Card and Text colors. Leave a color empty for the default. To show your logo, also select Logo under Show.
displayAQI adjusts colors automatically when needed to keep readings legible against your choice.
Open the Link on a Screen
Copy the link. After creating a kiosk, use Copy kiosk link in the window. Later, use the same button in the kiosk's row on the Kiosks page.
Open the link in the browser on your TV, tablet or monitor.
Move the mouse and select Fullscreen. The button sits at the top right and hides after 3 seconds. Select Exit Fullscreen to leave.
The Fullscreen button appears only in browsers that support full screen.
On a portrait screen, Split stays landscape and appears smaller, with empty space above and below.
Edit or Delete a Kiosk
Select the pencil icon in a kiosk's row to edit it. The link stays the same.
Select the trash icon to delete it. The link stops working immediately.
If your workspace's billing is paused, the kiosk shows "Air quality monitoring is paused. Please contact your administrator." See Billing and your free trial. To show readings only at certain times, see Set display hours.
Limits
A workspace can have 20 kiosks. Each kiosk can include up to 20 devices.
Add an Air Quality Widget to Your Website
Build a widget in the app, copy its embed code, and paste it into any page that accepts HTML. Choose from 10 templates and add your logo and colors.
Set Display Hours
Choose the days and times your widgets and kiosks show readings, set the time zone, and decide what visitors see outside those hours.
