Readings and Status Colors
See which metrics each model reports, the exact status bands for each metric, and which metrics drive a device's overall status.
Every device reports a set of metrics, and most metrics show a status band with a color. This page lists the metrics by model, the exact bands, and how displayAQI chooses the overall status.
Metrics by Model
Qingping models report a fixed set of metrics.
| Metric | Unit | Air Monitor Pro | Qingping 2 | Air Monitor Lite |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| CO₂ | ppm | Yes | Yes | No |
| PM2.5 | µg/m³ | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| PM10 | µg/m³ | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Temperature | °C | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Humidity | % | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| TVOC | ppb | Yes | No | No |
| TVOC Index | index | No | Yes | No |
| Noise | dB | No | Yes | No |
| Battery | % | Yes | Yes | No |
AirGradient monitors show the metrics they report to AirGradient. These can include CO₂, PM1, PM2.5, PM10, PM0.3 count, temperature, humidity, TVOC, TVOC Index, and NOx Index.
Status Bands
| Metric | Good | Moderate | Poor | Hazardous |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| CO₂ | under 800 ppm | 800–1,000 ppm | 1,000–2,000 ppm | over 2,000 ppm |
| PM2.5 | under 12 µg/m³ | 12–35 µg/m³ | 35–75 µg/m³ | over 75 µg/m³ |
| PM10 | under 20 µg/m³ | 20–50 µg/m³ | 50–100 µg/m³ | over 100 µg/m³ |
| Temperature | 18–25 °C | 15–18 °C or 25–27 °C | under 15 °C or over 27 °C | None |
| Humidity | 40–60% | 30–40% or 60–70% | 20–30% or 70–80% | under 20% or over 80% |
| TVOC | under 220 ppb | 220–660 ppb | 660–2,200 ppb | over 2,200 ppb |
| TVOC Index | under 150 | 150–250 | 250–400 | over 400 |
| Noise | under 45 dB | 45–55 dB | 55–70 dB | over 70 dB |
Each band has a color. The name differs slightly by screen.
| Band | Color | Dashboard and device page | Widgets | Kiosk |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Good | Green | Good | Good | Good |
| Moderate | Yellow | Moderate | Fair | Fair |
| Poor | Orange | Poor | Poor | Poor |
| Hazardous | Red | Hazardous | Unhealthy | Alert |
On widgets, a stale or missing reading shows gray and No data. On the dashboard, an offline device shows gray gauges.
Overall Status
Widgets and kiosks roll a device up to one overall status: the worst band among CO₂, PM2.5, and PM10. For a device that doesn't report CO₂, such as the Air Monitor Lite, the overall status uses PM2.5 and PM10.
A kiosk layout that shows only some metrics rolls up the ones it shows.
Comfort Metrics
Temperature and humidity are comfort metrics. They show their own band on the dashboard and device page, and they don't change the overall status. On kiosks they read In range or Out of range.
Metrics With Their Own Band
TVOC, TVOC Index, and noise show their own band on the dashboard and device page. They don't change the overall status.
Metrics Without a Band
PM1, PM0.3 count, and NOx Index show values with no band. Wi-Fi signal, battery voltage, panel voltage, and firmware version appear under Device diagnostics on the device page.
Battery has its own scale on the device page: Good at 50% and above, Fair from 20% to 49%, Low from 10% to 19%, and Recharge below 10%. A device below 20% appears under Needs attention.
Indoor and Outdoor Monitors
The bands above are defined for indoor air. Outdoor monitors (AirGradient Open Air and Open Air Max) report PM2.5 and PM10 as values. The dashboard list view shows outdoor values without a status dot.
How Often Readings Update
Readings update about every 5 minutes. Each provider has its own reporting lag, so a reading can reach displayAQI later than the monitor measured it.
If a device stops updating, see When a device is offline or stale.
View a Device's History
Open a device to see its metric tiles and history chart, choose a time range, rename it, set primary metrics, and refresh a reading.
