Connect Devices for a Client
Check a client's slots, connect its Qingping or AirGradient devices, place them in buildings, and rotate provider credentials.
Your staff connect devices from inside the client's workspace. Clients can't connect or remove devices.
Before You Start
- Slots. The client needs one slot for each device. See Buy slots for a client.
- The client's own provider account. Use a separate Qingping or AirGradient account for each client. Qingping returns every device on the account behind an App Key, so never share one account across client workspaces.
- Wi-Fi. Add each device to the client's provider account on the client's own Wi-Fi network.

Connect Devices
In Clients, select Open dashboard on the client's row. Confirm the workspace name in the sidebar.
Open the Add menu in the sidebar and select Device.
Check the capacity line. It names the workspace and how many more devices it can connect.
Choose Qingping or AirGradient, then continue.
Enter the client's keys. For AirGradient, enter the Place token.
Select Connect. For AirGradient, select Connect Place.
Select the devices to add.
Select Add device. With several devices selected, the button shows the count.
Offline devices can still be selected. Devices already in the workspace are labeled Connected. One batch holds up to 50 devices, and never more than the workspace has free slots. A workspace holds up to 1,000 devices.
When a Client Has No Free Slots
The flow stops and shows a link to buy slots for that client. Only Owners can buy slots, so a Manager is asked to contact an Owner. The link opens Slots in a new tab, and the setup stays open and updates when the slots arrive.
Assign Devices to Buildings
In the client's workspace, open Buildings.
Select New buildings and name the building. Floors and rooms are optional.
Open the building's actions menu and select Add devices….
Choose the devices.

Rotate Credentials
For a Qingping client:
Create a new App Key and App Secret in the client's Qingping developer account.
In the client's workspace, open Settings, then Credentials.
Enter the new App Key and App Secret, then select Test and save.
Devices reconnect at the next update, which runs about every 5 minutes. Only your staff see Credentials. Workspace Managers and Viewers don't.
For AirGradient, follow Connect AirGradient monitors.
Remove a Device
Open the device, select Remove, and confirm. Removing a device deletes its history and frees its slot.
Add and Manage Clients
Create a client workspace, invite its first Workspace Manager, open it for setup, and see what clients and your staff can each do.
Buy Slots for a Client
Buy slots per client, monthly or annual, add more with proration, switch to annual at renewal, and find invoices and payment methods.
